(The Company)Who we are
Built by owners.
Run by operators.
Jets.Exchange exists because the three of the founding team who owned aircraft kept lending them to the two who didn’t — and the paperwork to do that properly turned out to be a company.
(01)The thesis
Sixteenths were a 1986 decision.
When fractional ownership was invented, a sixteenth — fifty hours a year — was the smallest share the paperwork could bear. Four decades later the paperwork is software, but the minimum never moved. An entire generation of flyers who need ten or fifteen hours a year has been left to charter brokers.
We rebuilt the co-ownership stack — title, scheduling, billing, resale — to support sixty owners per airframe with the same guarantees a quarter-share holder gets. Smaller shares aren’t a discount product. They’re the same product, sized honestly.
The second half of the name matters too. Ownership without liquidity is a trap; our resale market makes a share something you can list on a Tuesday, not a problem you negotiate for a year.
“The jet was never the extravagance. The empty seats were.”
(02)The program, in numbers
What we’re committing to.
(03)Operating principles
Dull on purpose.
Safety is boring
Audited operators, factory maintenance, two full crews per tail, no exceptions for schedule pressure. The most interesting thing about our operations should be the catering.
Numbers are published
Every rate, fee and conversion factor lives in one schedule, sent to the waitlist before allocation. If a number isn’t in the schedule, you don’t owe it.
Title is sacred
Shares record on the FAA registry in the owner’s name. Our balance sheet and yours never mix, and your asset survives anything that happens to us.
Exits are engineered
Appraised-value repurchase is a contract, not a courtesy. The resale market is a feature we build, not a favor we grant.
